I had a great day with my family on Thursday. Other than eating a delicious meal, I also tossed some hay around. I mean literal hay, as in what horses eat. And I was wearing my favorite white jeans. They did not survive.
I also wore my knit vest mentioned in my last post. Oh beautiful blanket vest…
But I did not get a full length photo of my outfit, because taking photos of outfits at a family gathering feels way too weird.
My tiny dog also got a new sweater to wear. She felt neutral about it.
After Thanksgiving dinner, we went shopping, because apparently stores opening early on Thanksgiving is a thing now. Off to Leesburg Outlets!
We saw a long line, and figured it must go somewhere good. We decided to wait in it.
Turns out it was Kate Spade. I love that store! And they were having a 70% off deal! (That explained the stupid long line) Our risky wait paid off!
We (or I) went a little crazy in there. We also had to wait in another long line to check out. We spent a lot of time in the Kate Spade store. If you live around Leesburg and want to check it out, the sale only lasts until 11am. Since they have been open since 6pm yesterday, it may be a good idea to get on that quickly…
We continued around the rest of the mall. We stared sadly into Burberry, which refused to open. We also watched several other groups stare sadly into Burberry. I was slightly pleased we were ahead of the trend of staring sadly at Burberry. They missed an opportunity to make some sales, but I suppose when they open tomorrow, all they need to do is sell a few scarves and a trench coat and they’ll make up for it.
We went to a few other stores, but a lot of the deals are the same deals that they have been running for a while. Some of them were good deals, but when they always have those deals, there’s no reason to risk life and limb on Black Friday. Just wait a few days when the crowd isn’t so bad.
When we left, people were parking anywhere there was a tiny amount of space. The ends of aisles were common spaces, but other spots included right on the road (slightly to the side) and taking the space reserved next to handicap parking for people to get in and out of their vehicles. I’m kind of surprised there wasn’t a tow truck waiting to pick these cars up.
Black Friday does strange things to people…
